Lockdown restrictions mean weddings and civil partnerships will only be allowed to take place in exceptional circumstances from Thursday.

For Siobhan and Chris, it is not the first time lockdown has got in the way of their wedding plans.

The couple were due to fly to Las Vegas to get married earlier this year. That couldn’t go ahead due to the pandemic, so they rearranged their plans and were due to exchange vows at Easthampstead park in Bracknell later this month.

But with lockdown rules coming into place on Thursday, Siobhan and Chris were faced with another long wait until they could tie the knot.

Instead of waiting, they’ve decided to move the wedding to tomorrow, Wednesday 4th November, just one day before lockdown measures are brought in.

The wedding venue has managed to squeeze in their special day and the couple say, while its not Las Vegas, they are still excited.

Meeting Safely

18th May 2020

Since the government’s moderate easing of the current restrictions on the 10th May, Active Hospitality have been working to create a safer environment for all delegates.  Our teams have been introducing measures to ensure the health and wellbeing off all guests and staff.

We understand our clients have different needs and our venues will work with you to ensure you are meeting safely.

BNC Show

4th July 2019

Active Hospitality is looking forward to being a part of the next BNC Event Show on Wednesday 10th July 2019 at Central Hall Westminster. We’ll be exhibiting Gorse Hill, Easthampstead Park & Villiers Hotel on stand 118.

The focus of this, the 15th edition of The Show Eventprofs Recommend, is sustainability.

We’re getting ready to talk to the hundreds of high level eventprofs all about our sustainability efforts.

Through their research The BNC have found that sustainability is still being used as a buzzword across the industry and many event professionals admittedly know very little about what measures to take, which suppliers to partner with, and what simple switches they can make to their events to lessen their impact on the environment. The aim of the day on 10th July is to start better conversations about sustainability in the events world – and to learn from each other through networking and sharing.

Visiting eventprofs have already started on their learning mission by sharing sustainability tips and best practices upon registration. The BNC will be producing a pamphlet of those new ideas and creative solutions after the Show.

Exhibitors have got involved as well! Many of us have written our showguide biographies using our sustainability achievements and ambitions as content. They make for much more interesting reading than the standard showguide blurbs!!! Visitors to the Show are being asked to vote for the most impressive/interesting one via the new BNC Event Show App, soon to be released by Noodle Live.

Other initiatives at the Show include stands being donated to several not-for-profit organisations, plus we’ll all be contributing to the BNC Gives Back charity initiative by bringing along toiletries that The BNC will then package-up and deliver to charities that support the homeless and those in hospital for long periods of time.

Visitors won’t be disappointed with all that’s going on at the Show. As well as a Focus on Sustainability other **NEW** elements to ensure an enriching day out of the office for event professionals are:

  • Event Tech Clinics
  • 1:1 career chats
  • The BNC Event Show App
  • Bounce’s Ping Pong Leaderboard competition
  • Surprises from Merlin Events

And much, much more!

Throughout the day there are over 100+ stands and experiences to explore, a series of eight educational sessions in the seminar room: 4 discussion panels led by corporate eventprofs; 4 speaker presentations each on careers, event tech, tribe building, film making, venue finding secrets, marketing, success building and sustainabililty – plus plenty of opportunities to network, spark conversation and learn.

Kudos catering will showcase some great new flavours and ideas to keep everyone going throughout the day – everything is complimentary, from breakfast through to afternoon tea. Plus there are 25 prizes to be won!

For more about our Venues don’t forget to pop by our stand 118 and take away a copy of our brochure

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Fibre Installed at Villiers

2nd July 2019

The next phase of the continued upgrades at Villiers Hotel has just taken place with the installation of a new lease line.  The line was upgraded from a sub standard 80Mb to a full 1Gb lease line ensuring all out guests receive adequate bandwidth whether they are here for leisure or corporate business.

The WiFi covers all areas of the hotel and has been split to ensure that when the hotel is at capacity, all bedroom guests receive enough bandwidth to stream video content.

Conference clients have dedicated bandwidth to ensure no matter how many other leisure guests are staying, their service will run at top speed.

Additionally, a backup line is in place so in the unlikely event the main line goes down, we will still be able to operate.

And best of all, it’s FREE!!!
