Lockdown restrictions mean weddings and civil partnerships will only be allowed to take place in exceptional circumstances from Thursday.

For Siobhan and Chris, it is not the first time lockdown has got in the way of their wedding plans.

The couple were due to fly to Las Vegas to get married earlier this year. That couldn’t go ahead due to the pandemic, so they rearranged their plans and were due to exchange vows at Easthampstead park in Bracknell later this month.

But with lockdown rules coming into place on Thursday, Siobhan and Chris were faced with another long wait until they could tie the knot.

Instead of waiting, they’ve decided to move the wedding to tomorrow, Wednesday 4th November, just one day before lockdown measures are brought in.

The wedding venue has managed to squeeze in their special day and the couple say, while its not Las Vegas, they are still excited.

Meeting Safely

18th May 2020

Since the government’s moderate easing of the current restrictions on the 10th May, Active Hospitality have been working to create a safer environment for all delegates.  Our teams have been introducing measures to ensure the health and wellbeing off all guests and staff.

We understand our clients have different needs and our venues will work with you to ensure you are meeting safely.

A Grand Acquisition

28th September 2018

Active Hospitality will become the new owner of Easthampstead Park Conference Centre (EPCC) from Monday, 8 October 2018, after exchange of contracts was confirmed today.

This decision from Bracknell Forest Council comes following a successful bid to take over the much loved venue, with the transfer of the ongoing and continuous business securing its future for the benefit of the Bracknell Forest community.

Exciting plans are already in place to enhance EPCC through significant investment in the building, which will include: an additional 67 bedrooms, a complete refurbishment of the existing bedrooms; a new reception, lounge, café and afternoon tea area; a revamped restaurant and dedicated bar area and revised meeting space.

In addition, a health and fitness centre will be created in the Whitfield building and a dry health and beauty spa developed in the basement of the main building, all of which will be accessible to local residents.

Rick Aspland-Robinson, a partner at Active Hospitality said:

“We’re thrilled to have been given this opportunity to upgrade and transform this beautiful building in the heart of Berkshire. We will create a bespoke hotel, wedding venue and conference centre enhancing its current features and creating new and improved areas for the local community to come and enjoy.

“We appreciate there has been some speculation and worry from local residents regarding housing in the area, but we confirm that our business is in hotel, wedding, conferencing and health and fitness and we look forward to working with current EPCC staff and providing a significant number of additional job opportunities as the transformation gets underway.

“We would like to reassure current wedding clients that all existing bookings will be honoured. This is your special day and we will make it so. We are really keen to engage with local residents and will be holding a ‘meet the owners’ session on Sunday, 30 September at EPCC from 11am to 3pm. We’d like to encourage residents to come along to find out more.”

Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, resources and public protection, said: “We’re delighted the future of this important venue and its ancient woodland has been secured. We can now begin to look forward to the exciting changes ahead, which will see EPCC become even more accessible for local residents and businesses, as well as those from further afield.”

Dubs in the Park has already been confirmed for May 2019. Further information will be shared as the refurbishment progresses. Follow EPCC on Facebook to keep up-to-date. https://www.facebook.com/eastparkCC/
